"say nope to dope and ugh to drugs..."
In the years that Obama was president, I saw a crazy influx of prescription drugs in the common populace, with a concentration on opiates of course. While they've been in counter culture circulation forever, pop culture has definitely placed a premium on drug culture, this time with permission. On a trendy level it was what you think is fun; drugs like Xanax and the various high powered cough syrups brought the whole wide world together and gave it a heavy habit. To this day, music currently described as "emo rap" (there's more, this is for example) is nothing more than young people coming down off of crazy chemical cocktails and crying over the results. The world definitely hits different when you are on 15-20 pain pills a day, no wonder you can't carry a note without the help of a plug-in...
